Who Are We…

THE West Indian Families and Friends Association (Wiffa) started in 1985 with a small number of members. Over the years the Association has changed and grown. Below, Mr Tony Sandiford, one of its founding members, looks back at Wiffa and how much it has changed since 1985.

Becoming a WIFFA member
Full membership of the Association shall be open to:-
Individuals of 18 years and over who are interested in furthering the work of the Association and who have paid the non-refundable annual subscription as laid down from time to time by the Executive Committee hereinafter mentioned.

Honorary members may be appointed at the discretion of the said Executive Committee. Honorary members shall not be entitled to vote.
The Executive Committee shall have the right to:-
Approve or reject applications for membership and For good and sufficient reason to terminate the membership of any individual.
That individual shall have the right to be heard by the Executive Committee before a final decision is made. Any member who is in arrears of their annual subscription for three months shall, after due service of notice on their last known address, have their membership terminated by the Executive Committee.

Individual members shall have the right to terminate her/his membership at any time by submitting their resignation in writing to the Secretary of the Association.
